Why it's not one-size-fits-all

Why Commercial EICRs Are Different

A domestic property has a single consumer unit with a fixed number of circuits. A commercial premises is an entirely different proposition: there may be multiple distribution boards, sub-boards, three-phase supplies, hundreds of individual circuits, and specialist equipment connections. No two commercial installations are the same.

Pricing a commercial EICR by guesswork or by room count leads to overcharging on simple premises and serious undercutting on complex ones — neither outcome benefits the client. That's why we base our quotation on the actual number of circuits and distribution boards to be tested. Send us photos of your boards and we'll give you a fixed price before we set foot on site.

Legally, commercial properties must comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). Employers and building owners have a duty to ensure electrical installations are safe. Regular inspection and testing — and keeping records of the results — is a core part of meeting that duty.

All testing is conducted by a NAPIT-registered electrician. Every certificate we issue is legally valid and accepted by insurers, local authorities and commercial compliance bodies.

Simple Process

How to Get a Quote

We make getting an accurate, fixed price as straightforward as possible. Three steps is all it takes.

1

Send us photos of your distribution boards

Take photos of every distribution board and fuseboard in the premises with the door open. Make sure any circuit label schedules are visible in the photo. Include any sub-boards too.

What to photograph:

  • camera_alt Each board with door open — full view including circuit breakers
  • camera_alt Circuit label schedules (the card or label listing what each breaker controls)
  • camera_alt Any sub-boards or secondary distribution boards
  • mail Email to: office@livelineelectrical.co.uk or use the form below
2

We review the photos and count circuits

We'll go through your photos, identify the number of test points, assess board complexity, and estimate the time required. You'll receive a fixed price quotation — no surprises on the day. If the photos aren't clear enough for an accurate count, we'll simply ask for more detail before quoting.

3

We book and carry out the inspection

Once you're happy with the quotation, we'll agree a date and time. We can work around shift patterns or schedule out-of-hours visits to minimise disruption to your business. On completion, your full written EICR certificate is issued — ready for your compliance records.
