Clear, Honest Pricing —
No Surprises
We believe you should know what you're paying before we arrive. No hidden extras, no shock invoices. Every job is quoted and agreed in advance.
What does the 'first hour' actually mean?
15+
Years' Experience
NAPIT
Registered & Certified
1–2 hrs
Typical domestic job duration
The first hour at Live Line Electrical is not a callout charge. It is a working hour. From the moment we arrive, we are on site assessing, diagnosing and working — not just parking the van and writing up paperwork.
Our first-hour rate covers the full scope of professional expertise: fault diagnosis, safety assessment, NAPIT-standard testing methodology, and the work itself. It reflects 15+ years of electrical knowledge applied the moment we walk through your door.
Consecutive hourly rates apply for each additional hour of work. Most domestic jobs — socket replacements, lighting circuits, consumer unit assessments — are completed within one to two hours.
For any project that is clearly going to exceed a single hour, we scope and provide a fixed-price quote before work begins. You'll always know the total cost in advance.

Attendance within 6–12 hours, guaranteed
We will redirect our engineers to your premises within the agreed window. Other scheduled jobs are paused to honour this commitment.
365 days a year — including bank holidays
Electrical failures do not respect working hours. Our guaranteed response covers evenings, weekends and every public holiday throughout the year.
NAPIT-registered engineer on site
A certified, fully insured engineer attends — not a subcontractor. Full documentation and certification issued as required.
Full diagnostic on arrival
We arrive equipped to diagnose and act immediately. Common components are carried on the van — no waiting for a second visit.
Make-safe as immediate priority
First action is always safety — isolating any danger and restoring safe supply as fast as possible, then scoping any follow-on remedial work.

Not Sure Which Extraction Solution You Need?
Extractor fans can be installed three different ways depending on your property's layout. Use our quick selector to find out which option applies to you — then send us a message.
Is the bathroom or kitchen directly adjacent to an external wall?
By "adjacent" we mean: is there an outside wall within easy reach of where the fan needs to go?
Great — a direct through-wall installation may be possible.
Here's what that typically means for your property:
Option A
Through-Wall Installation
The fan unit is mounted on the wall and ducted straight through to the outside. This is the simplest, most efficient installation — minimal ductwork, maximum airflow, quickest job.
Is there accessible ceiling or floor void space above the room?
This means: is there a loft, ceiling void, or accessible space above or around the room where ductwork can be routed?
Here's the recommended installation route for your property:
Option B
Ceiling & Soffit / Eaves Route
The fan exhausts upward through the ceiling into a void, then ductwork runs horizontally to exit through an external wall, the eaves or a soffit vent. A neat, hidden solution where direct wall installation isn't possible.
Here's the recommended installation route for your property:
Option C
Ceiling, Loft & Tile Route
Where no ceiling void or external wall is accessible, the extraction duct runs vertically through the ceiling into the loft space and exits via a purpose-designed ventilating roof tile. This is the most involved installation but gives excellent performance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge a callout fee?
expand_moreNo. If you book a job, the first hour rate is your only charge until work is done. We don't add a callout fee on top. The first-hour rate is a working hour — not a charge for showing up.
How do you handle jobs that take longer than expected?
expand_moreWe quote fixed prices for anything beyond a simple one-hour job. If scope changes on site — for example, we discover an underlying fault that requires additional work — we'll always tell you before we proceed. You will never receive a bill for work you didn't agree to.
Are your prices negotiable?
expand_moreOur rates reflect genuine expertise and NAPIT certification — we don't discount rates. What we do offer is efficient scoping: we work quickly and methodically, and most customers find the total cost lower than they anticipated. We get the job done right, first time, without unnecessary return visits.
Do you provide written quotes?
expand_moreYes, always. For any project beyond a single hour, you'll receive a written quote by email before any work starts. The quote will itemise labour, materials and any certification costs so you know exactly what you're agreeing to.
